Editorial Policy

Lovcover's goal is to publish the clearest and most accurate guides on the web to fairy tales, world folklore and the craft of writing. This page explains how we work.

Our standards

  • Primary sources first. For fairy tales, we work from published editions and translations of the original texts (for example, the different editions of the Grimms' Children's and Household Tales), and we note when versions differ.
  • Reliable references. We check facts such as dates, names and historical context against reputable scholarly and reference sources.
  • Uncertainty stated plainly. Where scholars disagree, or where a popular claim is unproven, we say so rather than presenting legend as fact.
  • Respect for cultures. Folklore belongs to living communities. We write about traditions from other cultures with care and avoid stereotypes.
  • Original writing. Our articles are written in our own words. We do not copy other websites' content.

How articles are produced

Articles are researched, outlined, drafted and then reviewed and edited by our editorial team before publication. We use digital tools, including writing and research assistants, during drafting; every article is reviewed by a human editor who is responsible for its accuracy and quality.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we want to fix it. Email contact@lovcover.net with the article link and the issue. We review all correction requests and update articles promptly, noting significant corrections.

Independence and advertising

Advertising helps keep Lovcover free. Advertisers have no influence over what we write. We do not publish paid articles or sell links.

Updates

We review and update articles regularly to keep them accurate and useful.
